The Arm Cannon

Lately I’ve been spending my entire evenings doing research and/or planning. After taking a look at the costume as a whole and what all I’ll need for each section, I determined that it’s probably best to start with the arm cannon. I did this mock up in Maya as a sort of practice build:

The red parts are foam (whether that’s EVA foam, pink insulation foam, or a thinner foam I have yet to decide), the white is PVC pipe, and gray is wood/foam/PVC (haven’t decided yet). I figured out that I’ll need four pieces of PVC pipe (not counting the interior handle if I decide to make that PVC too). I so wish I had access to a motorized saw; maybe Home Depot will cut it for me.
